Women Representative · Makueni County · 2027

Makueni, our home. Our future.

I grew up in Makueni. I went to school here. These are the communities that shaped who I am.

I am stepping forward because I believe Makueni deserves representation that listens, works and prepares our people for the opportunities of today and the future.

Hon. Consolata Katua, candidate for Women Representative, Makueni County

Hon. Consolata Katua, aspirant for Women Representative, Makueni County.

Why this campaign

Makueni has never lacked capable people. It has lacked the patience of leaders willing to sit through a three hour meeting and executing what was actually said.

This campaign is being built ward by ward, meeting by meeting. What you read on these pages came out of those rooms rather than a strategy document. Where something cannot be promised honestly, it is not promised here.

Her story

Makueni raised me.

Her public service began with two years as an untrained teacher in one school, followed by three years as an office administrator in another. In 2009, she secured a position at KUPPET headquarters through a competitive interview process, where she would go on to serve for 16 years.

After her primary school education, she went to Kenya High School, before completing her secondary education at Mulango Girls High School in Kitui. She pursued business studies at Wote Technical, and would go on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Maseno University while working at KUPPET. She is currently pursuing an LLB at Daystar University.

But the story is not only about the schools she attended or the offices she worked in. At KUPPET, she stood beside the Secretary General in negotiations with the Teachers Service Commission and fought for teachers' rights, before an unexpected turn saw her take her own case to court, and win. That is the journey that brought her here.

Our Makueni

A county rich in people, talent, resilience and possibility.

Women

Table banking groups across this county move real money every month. The ceiling is capital, not discipline.

Young people

Almost every young person here has done the arithmetic of leaving. The question is whether staying can be a real choice.

Land and water

Two seasons, uncertain rain and a market price set somewhere else. Farmers here manage risk professionally.

The vision

Eight areas, written out in full rather than in bullet points.

Each one explains what the office can genuinely do, what it cannot, and how you will be able to tell whether it happened.

  1. 01Education
  2. 02Women
  3. 03Youth
  4. 04PWDs

Women

A Makueni where a woman’s circumstances do not determine her future.

Enterprise, credit, land, markets, school fees, and the practical business of getting a group registered without losing a trading day.

Young Makueni

Your future should not depend on leaving Makueni.

Digital work, technical skills, the creative economy and the honest question of what it takes to earn a living here.

Support the campaign

A countywide campaign runs on people and on resources.

Meetings in twenty nine wards, fuel, printing and the people who organise it all. If you believe in this work, a contribution of any size moves it forward.
