Mutuku keeps goats and grows what he can between the seasons. He has lived through enough drought cycles to be unsentimental about them.
He is not asking to be rescued. He is asking that relief, when it comes, arrives before the animals die rather than after, and that the lists used to distribute it are read out publicly.
He has seen names on lists that belong to people who do not live in the area.
